Kylie Is Surprise Dropping New Velvet Lip Kits Today

After all this time, all these products, and all these colors, Kylie Jenner and Kylie Cosmetics still come up with new ways to keep us on our toes and guessing. Kylie Cosmetics is dropping new Velvet Lip Kit shades on Wednesday, May 24 at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT. Wait! What colors are they? Where are the swatches? The teases? The hype?

Well, Jenner confirmed the news that new Velvets are on the way via Snapchat. But she didn't and hasn't shared the new colors. Instead, Jenner dropped a surprising detail.

She will announce the shades and drop them. So she is pulling a Beyonce in the beauty world.

OMG! How thrilling! We will get hardly any advance warning. You will basically see the shades and decide instantly if you want to own them and swipe 'em in your pout. It's the ultimate in impulse shopping.

I don't believe the makeup maven has tried this tactic previously — she usually teases the shades for a week before releasing them onto her site, which is the brand's sales platform.

So far, Jenner has dropped a total of four Velvet Lip Kits, which are creamier, less long lasting, and slightly less matte than the original, hero product Lip Kits. But they wear super comfortably. I know because I've tried and use many of the Velvets and the regulars!

All the Velvets released so far were in the pink color family. What will the new Velvet Lip Kits look like?

We won't know until they drop. The anticipation is high. Jenner's decision not to advance reveal the shades will stoke the fires of excitement and might cause her fans and Kylie Cosmetics devotees to drop and shop.

Good luck being patient, since we won't find out what the colors are until Jenner releases them into the wild and the world.

My prediction? She is going to go with darker shades.

She already perfected pinks for summer with Charm, Harmony, Dazzle, and Rosie. Maybe she will translate some of the most popular regular matte Lip Kit shades into Velvets? Anything is possible.
