Swatches Of Becca's Prismatic Lavender Are Gorg

by Rachel Nussbaum

Where were you when word dropped of Becca's Prismatic Amethyst highlighter? I don't remember where I was, which I believe means I went into a state of dissociative shock and came to hours later in our new reality. But the highs keep coming, because on top of the product being available for Sephora VIB Rouge members, Becca just posted swatches of Prismatic Amethyst. They are, as we all expected, amazing.

Where golden and champagne hues can be hit or miss depending on skin tone, this lavender shade — available at Sephora on Feb. 22 and in stores in March — is uniformly glowing on the pale, medium and dark skin tones that the brand swatched it against. The violet skew keeps it light enough to shine on all three, and as it's not in the realm of a realistic skin tone itself, it doesn't blend in. It's very similar to other holographic highlighters on the market, but in classic Becca fashion, Prismatic Amethyst stays just on this side of everyday wearable. Whip out your Cover FX Enhancer Drops in Halo for nighttime, but you could conceivably wear this under office fluorescents.

With the blue highlighter options thoroughly covered (that Wet N Wild, tho), I'm betting on purple and green as the next categories to explode.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed Highlighter in Prismatic Amethyst, $38, Sephora.com

That pale, shimmering purple — it's like moonlight on a more interesting planet.

Lorac I Love Brunch Light Source Illuminating Highlighter, $23, Ulta.com

And in other wild highlighter news, this Lorac green is a must-try.

And Too Faced's new heart-shaped highlighters have more conventional tones, but the packaging makes them stand out.

No need to choose just one of these new releases — there's room for more than one new highlighter in your collection this spring.
