Ditch the booties this Thanksgiving and lace up your running shoes instead because Target's Black Friday deals have just been announced, and they're going to make you want to sprint. Target stores will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight on Thanksgiving, and will reopen early at 6 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24. And the sales are massive.
Aside from huge discounts on products in all departments, when you spend $50 on Friday, Nov. 24, you will get a 20 percent off coupon for your next shopping trip, which you could redeemed between Nov. 28 and Dec. 10. Bless.
“When you consider the breadth of our Black Friday offers, guests can save more across Target than any other time of the year, with literally thousands of deals to choose from,” said Mark Tritton, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer of Target. If you've been waiting to buy a new electronic or just don't want to pay full-price for some new winter sweaters, this is the time to go wild.
For those of you that don't want to be elbowed in the jaw during a deal-grabbing stampede or battle a kid 10 years your junior for the newest video game, you can also shop online. While Thanksgiving is Nov. 23, Target is trying something new this year where their sales debut even earlier. On Wednesday, Nov. 22, Target will make more than 100 Black Friday deals available on Target.com for REDcard holders only through its Early Access Sale. This is the most Black Friday deals they have ever made available before Thanksgiving. You will also get your 5 percent card-carrying discount on top of that.
Black Friday deals will be available to everyone on Target.com early the morning of Thanksgiving with free shipping on all orders. You can just stock up on great deals as the turkey is baking.
One small caveat: If you're worried about supporting corporations pulling their workers away from their families during holidays, Target's corporate announced they have raised their minimum wage to $11 per hour, and that includes holiday staff. Their workers will be paid time and a half during the event, and all staff members who work certain shifts on Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and the weekends leading up to Christmas will receive additional compensation on top of premium holiday pay. So, go Target.
