Even though award season hasn't even really kicked off in full, we're already looking toward the next season — music festival season. The 2017 Governors Ball lineup, for example, is all over the place in the best way. If the rest of the season is going to be anything like this, we're in for quite a ride. In the best way. The Governors Ball takes place Jun. 2-4 on Randall's Island Park in New York, and I don't know if any of us are ready for the wide variety of talent that will be cramming its way onto one little floating piece of real estate.
We're talking acts like Lorde, Chance the Rapper, Phoenix, Childish Gambino, Tool, the freakin' Wu-Tang Clan, Wiz Khalifa, Banks, Mark Ronson, Rae Sremmurd, Tove Lo, Charli XCX, A$AP Ferg, Bleachers... and obviously I could go on. And on. And on. That's me pulling names not just from the first few lines of headliners, but even getting lower on the list.
Obviously, the star power in this lineup runs deep. Just look at this poster, and try not to scream your head off. (There will be plenty of time for that at the festival itself.)
Whatever type of music that gets you all tingly inside, I'm betting the Gov Ball is representing it, so stay close to your preferred electronic device on Jan. 6 when tickets go on sale. You'll want to snap these up the moment they become available.
