The GabiFresh x Swimsuitsforall Greece-Inspired Collection Is Gorg

by James Hale

Fans were over the moon when GabiFresh and Swimsuitsforall dropped their 2017 limited edition resort collection, and now they've got a whole new collab to celebrate: On March 28, the influencer and brand released a Greece-inspired collection of five swimsuits and three sarongs from the powerhouse plus size designer.

"Plus-size style icon GabiFresh was inspired by the fearless nature of women and created pieces that could be worn as swimwear and double as festival wear," the brand stated in a press release. "Each piece is named after a Greek goddess like Aphrodite or Athena and promotes the feeling of confidence while you are rocking each design."

Pieces are offered up to bra cup size F, and are sized to be super-comfy on plus size folks. For this collection, GabiFresh brought a variety of styles, like the ruffled Hera bikini, the strappy Electra one-piece, and the gorgeously patterned Athena sarong. They're priced at $52 for the sarongs, and between $98 and $105 for swimsuits.

GabiFresh, aka Gabi Gregg, used her blogging platform to popularize the term "fatkini," has worked with Swimsuitsforall five times. In a January 2017 statement about her 14-piece "New Year, Same You" resort collab with the brand, she said, "[Swimsuits For All] and I are determined to make 2017 a year of self-acceptance, self-love and empowerment. We want women to realize that reaching a certain number on the scale doesn't make them more valuable — it’s a new year, but it’s still the same beautiful you!"

Her Greece-inspired collection embodies her playful and empowering style. "I was inspired by my (then) upcoming vacation to Greece," Gregg tells Bustle. "I wanted lots of blues and whites and loved the idea of incorporating playful details like lace and ruffles."

She adds, "As always, I also looked at runway and street style trends and incorporated some of my favorite elements into the pieces, like a denim look and the off-the-shoulder trend. I really loved the idea of including matching printed sarongs that can be worn different ways, around the neck, hips or even in your hair."

Sara Mitzner, creative director at Swimsuitsforall, tells Bustle, "We love working with Gabi. Each year she brings a different fashion-forward perspective to her collections and really designs her fits with women in mind."

As usual, Gregg posed for Swimsuitsforall wearing her collection, and this time, the snaps of her were taken on location in Santorini, Greece. You can check out Gregg rocking her new looks below.
