Anyone else ask, "Who?" when Rachel Lindsay had that horseback riding date with Anthony Battle during the third episode of The Bachelorette this season? No offense to Anthony, but he just wasn't given a lot of screen time with all of the outrageous screen-grabbing from the other contestants going on. But their one-on-one date went well, he got the rose, and now I want to know more about him. Of course, I turned to social media for answers and found the one photo you need to see from Anthony's Instagram account.
Actually, it's worth scrolling through Anthony's whole Instagram, if you feel like you want to get to know him better outside of his very little time on the show. He has a good variety of photos, and they tell a lot about his life. It's unfortunate that someone who seems like such a nice, genuine guy is getting a little bit lost in the shuffle of all of the showboating and craziness, but maybe he'll get some more time as the show goes on.
One photo that really stands out is one Anthony posted for Throwback Thursday of himself reading to a book to young children while using his Fulbright Grant in the Ivory Coast. According to Anthony's official contestant bio, he is an Education Software Manager. When asked to name his "greatest achievement to date," he answered, "Getting a Fulbright Grant to teach in the Ivory Coast." So, obviously this photo means a lot to him since it represents that experience. This one photo reveals a lot more about Anthony than we've watched on The Bachelorette.
In addition to teaching in the Ivory Coast, Anthony has also taught in Indonesia. He said in his Bachelorette bio that the "most outrageous thing [he has] ever done" is "Taking a job to teach English in Indonesia with minimal preparation."
Anthony wrote as his caption for the Instagram, "My heart was full everyday from my students' diligence and sense of humor." That's a lot better sounding than many of the ridiculous things we've heard the other guys say throughout the season. Anthony might have been quiet on The Bachelorette so far, but it's clear he has a lot more to share.
