There's one thing that literally everybody is talking about on Monday: the solar eclipse. In case you've been disconnected from the internet for the past few days, on Monday, Aug. 21, a rare solar eclipse occurs, and even celebs are talking about the eclipse on social media. Some are joking about the eclipse, and the fact that you need special glasses to be able to look at it (don't forget, you shouldn't look directly at the eclipse without special protective glasses), while others are sharing inspiring messages about the eclipse.

Although eclipses on their own aren't terribly rare, Monday's solar eclipse is special because it will be visible from almost everywhere in the U.S. The path of totality stretches from the west coast to the east coast, starting in Oregon before passing through Idaho, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee before exiting America through South Carolina. If you want to know whether or not your city or town falls along the direct path of totality, check out this extensive list at Eclipse2017.org.

But even if you aren't in the direct path, you'll be able to see and feel the affects of the eclipse from everywhere in the country at some point on Monday. This is why there's so much hype about the eclipse, as this type of solar eclipse only occurs once every hundred years or so.
