The Top Swimwear Trends of 2017
Swimwear can be quite the source of shopping stress, but fashion site Polyvore has got you covered with their breakdown of 2017's hottest swimwear trends. They pooled together data from all the searches on their site, and have created lists of the top five trending styles, the top five fabrics, as well as the top patterns and colors.
Most of it's in line with what you'd expect — as we've all noticed via Instagram, high-leg one pieces are enjoying quite a moment in the spotlight (up 99 percent from last year, in fact). Actually, one pieces in general dominate the list of top styles, with monokinis, mesh one pieces, and swim dresses (??), all making appearances.
As for fabrics, sporty neoprene takes the lead, and Polyvore also cites it girl swimwear trendsetters like Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner for the increased interest in the ultra-sexy crochet and mesh styles. When it comes to colors and patterns, it looks like prints will be quite in — florals, stripes, and the dubious "tribal" patterns are all shaping up to be very popular in 2017 as well. Number one on the list, though, is nude — so expect to pull a lot of double takes poolside while you try to work out whether or not that girl over by the lifeguard chair is actually wearing a suit or not.
