Ariana's 'Beauty And The Beast' Dress Was Extra

If you're looking forward to the new live-action Beauty and the Beast movie as much as I am, chances are you've been playing the Ariana Grande and John Legend version of the movie's theme song on repeat. So when the music video for the song was released today, I had to watch. The real star of the "Beauty and the Beast" video was Ariana Grande's dress, though.

The singer performs her duet with John Legend in Beauty and the Beast's gorgeous enchanted castle ballroom, and the pair perform while Belle and the Beast spin around the dance floor behind them. But Grande's dress is hard to look away from — her huge red tulle ball gown pretty much swallows up the petite singer's frame. But the overall effect of Grande's dress and the dancers surrounding her was actually really cool — it's almost a recreation of Beauty and the Beast's enchanted rose. As the dancers surround Grande, the way they move almost looks like the petals of a rose opening and closing.

Although the overall effect of Grande's dress was pretty visually stunning, it's hard not to notice that the dress kind of resembles a loofah. You only have to watch 30 seconds or so of the video to see what I mean. Here it is:

It didn't take long for Twitter to pick up on the loofah comparison well (of course). Here were some of the funniest Twitter reactions to Grande's dress.

The side by side picture confirms my suspicion that this dress is definitely loofah-like.

It was one of the most popular Twitter reactions.

Some people were just not fans of the look.

Yep, it was pretty much a universal reaction.

Not everyone disliked the look.

In fact, some people loved it.

I do agree that the enchanted rose imagery made the video pretty magical.

And I also have to agree that Grande's straight hair looked amazing.

Retweet. How amazing would this dress be on a red carpet? Although the reactions to the dress were missed, I think it's a consensus that most of the world is pretty pumped to see this movie.
