Fox's Empire is bringing its usual brand of drama in the second half of its third season, along with some surprises and awesome guest stars. Rumer Willis joined Empire as Tory Ash, a new friend and collaborator of Jamal's from his stint in rehab — and she has showed off her truly impressive singing voice in the role. There are plenty of videos of Rumer Willis singing to show this actor's got legit pipes. In addition to the her other TV and movie acting roles, the musically-inclined daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis played Roxie Hart in the Broadway revival of Chicago and did a tour performing covers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"I've been singing since I was super little, but I've always struggled to find which avenue exactly I wanted to do," she told the publication in an interview. "Being able to do music as well, and the way they do music is such a dynamic, classy way, so I was really excited." Willis' character Tory is inspired by the late Amy Winehouse and it was actually her cover of an Amy Winehouse song that caused Jussie Smollett (who plays Jamal) to suggest Willis for a role on Empire, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Rumer brings something so special to the character. She's so effortless, she's not making a caricature of what it is," Smollett told the publication. "I love working with her."
