Here's What Starbucks' Maple Pecan Latté Tastes Like

How does one describe the essence of fall? It's nearly impossible to sum up what we love about fall because for the most part, it's a feeling that fall gives us. But surely the flavors of fall are tangible, identifiable and all have a home on the Starbucks drink menu, which is why when we think of fall, we think of also usually Starbucks. And honestly, once you taste the new Maple Pecan Latté at Starbucks, you're going feel those fall flavors swirl around your tongue like enchanted birds in a princess movie. I mean, literally, this new autumnal themed beverage is going to bring your sweaters out of storage and make you feel all warm and cozy inside the second you take a sip of it.

Yes, it's that good, and yes, it's that seasonally charged.

And that's mainly because this latte is made with super warming ingredients that evoke seasonal comforts and calmness, which is impressive considering the fact that it's an espresso-based drink. That's how you know when something's been made with artisanal integrity, because while the drink will surely give you all the pep you need in the morning, it will also soothe you and make you feel at home, even if you're sipping away on the subway or at your desk. It's got an expert blend of spices and flavors that come together to create an experience of a drink. One, that might I add, rivals the previously named king of fall, the Pumpkin Spice Latté. I mean, at the very least, it gives it a solid run for its money. The MPL is different: It's got bolder flavors, cuter toppings and a surprising taste that once upon a time, only had a place on the Thanksgiving table. Plus, maple is the perfect transitional flavor. It seamlessly takes you from fall vibes to winter vibes.

In every Maple Pecan Latté is a shot (or two) of Starbuck's signature espresso blend, which has a natural nutty flavor to it. Then, the espresso is combined with a flavor-packed serving of steamed milk. Within the milk are all of the pecan and maple syrup notes you're after. Plus, it's got hints of cooked brown sugar, spices, and major dessert-for-breakfast vibes.

Oh, but that's not all. On top of the latté is not just a boring layer of foam, there are leaf-colored sugary sprinkles that not only sweeten the milk, but also add a texture to the drink, giving your mouth all sorts of responsibilities that it's happy to take on. The MPL makes you sip, savor, and crunch — which will quickly become your favorite new way to drink coffee.

If all of that sounds like a bit familiar, you're right: Starbuck's has actually played around with maple latteé both nationally and internationally. Back in 2014, they had a Golden Maple Latté that was only available in Cleveland and Orlando, and back in 2007, there was the Maple Macchiato. Plus, tons of maple-syrup infused and flavored bakery items in between — because everyone loves maple. So really, the MPL has been a long time coming. People want their maple lattes, and now they can have them. Starting Friday, Sept. 22, the Maple Pecan Latté will officially join the fall line up at Starbucks. It will only be around for a limited time, though — much like its fall sibling the PSL — so make the most of it! A tall Maple Pecan Latté will range from $4.25 to $4.45, which is pretty reasonable considering it sounds like it's literally fall in caffeinated, drink form. Can you really put a price on that?
