Starbucks' Horchata Almondmilk Frappuccino Is A Cinnamon Lover's Dream

Starbucks

By now, unless you've been living under a rock with weak wi-fi signal, you've probably heard that Starbucks released a new frappuccino on Aug. 8. But, do you know what the new Horchata Almondmilk Frappuccino tastes like? If you didn't leave that rock to go grab one the second Starbucks introduced the drink, don't worry: I've got all the deets for you right here.

Unsurprisingly, it's pretty delicious. A mixture of almondmilk, cinnamon, and Cinnamon Dolce syrup, it tastes sort of like a Cinnamon Dolce Latté with a bit of a fresher kick — aka, perfect for the end of summer when the weather is getting a tiny bit colder, but it's still warm enough for some poolside lounging. The whipped cream is also topped with a caramel drizzle and a sprinkle of cinnamon, which adds a creamy sweetness and warmth to the flavor profile. Honestly, whoever created this drink is a goddamn genius.

The best part is that, despite being sweet, the drink is light enough that it's easy to finish up the largest size there is — rather than feeling too creamy, it just feels refreshing. Like I said: Goddamn genius.

Unfortunately, this drink won't be around forever: Much like the limited edition drinks before it (R.I.P. Unicorn Frappuccino, may you rest in colorful peace), the Horchata Almondmilk Frappuccino will only be available in participating U.S. and Canadian stores from Aug. 8 until... well, supplies last.

Starbucks

As devastating as it'll be to see this one go, it makes sense: This drink is meant to celebrate the end of summer, key word being end: The season is fleeting, and so this drink will be too. Kind of makes you think about mortality and how time is an illusion and aren't we all fleeting in some way or another, and...

Whatever, I'm going on a Starbucks run now.
