Just in time to ring in the new year, Starbucks has launched the Tuxedo Collection, a dapper line of beverages that will lend a little elegance to your celebrations. Say “Enchanté” to the Tuxedo Mocha, Tuxedo Mocha Frappuccino, and Tuxedo Hot Chocolate. What is in a Tuxedo Mocha Frappuccino, you ask? Let’s just say it’s the James Bond of Starbucks drinks — though you can forget about “shaken, not stirred.” This one’s blended.
The Tuxedo Mocha Frapp combines regular mocha sauce and white chocolate mocha sauce with Frappuccino roast coffee, milk, and ice, all blended into an icy treat. This debonair Frapp is topped with whipped cream and dark chocolate curls, with a mocha topping drizzled across half of the whipped cream for a dashing black and white tuxedo look. Fancy!
If you’re in the mood for something hot, try out the Tuxedo Mocha, which combines mocha sauce and white chocolate mocha sauce with espresso and steamed milk. You’ll get the same topping as the Frappuccino — whipped cream with a mocha drizzle and chocolate curls to mimic the black and white elegance of a classic tux. (You can also get your drink over ice, so it'll be colder than the merciless gaze of her majesty’s most deadly secret agent, forced to repress his true feelings in order to protect humanity from poker-playing villains who weep blood…or, you know, whatever.)
If you want something a little different — more “Fred Astaire” and less “Mr. Bond" — trying skipping the caffeine. You can order a Tuxedo Mocha with decaf espresso or go for a Tuxedo Hot Chocolate, which combines steamed milk with mocha sauce and white chocolate mocha sauce, topped with whipped cream, a mocha drizzle, and chocolate curls. (FYI, there is a little caffeine in hot chocolate, but a lot less than in coffee).
To get in on the debonair drink action, you’ll have to act fast. Starbucks’ Tuxedo Collection will only be available from December 26 to January 1.
