Uniqlo Is Doing Swimwear Soon
Last year, it was shoes, and this year, it's bathing suits — so, when exactly will Uniqlo's new swimwear come out? Well, the brand's very first collection of women's swimsuits will be launching this April — and the date couldn't come soon enough.
The swimsuits come as part of the larger Spring/Summer 2017 launch of Uniqlo U, which is a relatively new branch of the brand led by former Hermes designer Christopher Lemaire. You might recall Lemaire's insanely popular capsule collections with Uniqlo from 2015 — well, now he's got his own permanent line, and it has the same ultra-chic yet affordable minimalist aesthetic that made his previous collaborations fly off the shelves. Though the swimwear won't be hitting the shelves until April, it's worth pointing out that the rest of the new Uniqlo U collection will be launching online on Feb. 15 at 9 p.m., as well as in select stores starting on Feb. 16.
The Lemaire-helmed swimwear line keeps things simple with a combination of basic bikinis and sleek one-pieces (one-pieces are shaping up to be quite the summer 2017 trend so keep your eye out for those in particular). There are two bikini top styles, two one piece styles, and one rashguard — all can be mixed and matched, as they're all available in the same colors: red, black, rusty orange, and olive green. The styles have an athletic vibe to them, which is perfectly in line with the continuing obsession with athleisure — let's take a look.
Women U Seamless One-Piece
The off-the-shoulder Bardot look is really popular right now, and this streamlined suit is a great take on the trend.
Women U Seamless Swim Bra
Simple, comfortable, and perhaps most importantly? Secure.
Women U Seamless Swim One-Piece
Very utilitarian, yet also consummately trendy — not to mention flawlessly designed.
What do you think of Uniqlo's new swimwear? Are you excited for April? Since it's priced very affordably between $9.90 and $29.90, I'd say it's hard to go wrong — especially with the stylishly simple designs.
