Single AF? This Upcoming Holiday Is Just For You

by Courteney Larocca

I've always been single on Valentine's Day, and while I usually love being alone on the other 364 days of the year, I'm not as much of a fan of it once February 14 rolls around. But luckily, we have Single's Awareness Day, which is a special day dedicated to embracing and enjoying being single.

While I'm a huge advocate for loving your life on all days of the year, Single's Awareness Day is just another reminder that not being in a relationship can be something to celebrate. And while you can certainly do whatever you want on any other day (because with being single comes some seriously liberating freedom), if you want to partake in the festivities of Single's Awareness Day, you can do so on February 15.

Some people choose to celebrate the holiday on February 14 as a sort of anti-Valentine's Day holiday, but the official date comes a day later. In my opinion, I prefer the 15th since it gives my single status a day to itself and reminds me that not being in a relationship is a time in my life that deserves to be commemorated just as much as the times where I'm dating someone.

So if you're single on Valentine's Day this year, try to remember that not having a partner does NOT mean your life is lacking something. Single's Awareness Day will be coming along quickly to remind you that your relationship with yourself is something special all on its own.
