Miley Cyrus did not make it to the 2017 Teen Choice Awards, though she was nominated for a handful awards and was supposed to receive the Ultimate Choice Award. Naturally, where Cyrus is during the Teen Choice Awards became the question on everyone's mind after Victoria Justice announced that she was not able to make it to the show. Thankfully, Cyrus addressed her absence with an Instagram post during the ceremony, writing that she is "beyond bummed" that she had to miss out on the show and citing scheduling concerns for why she missed it.

"I want to say thank you from the very bottom of my heart for presenting me with the Ultimate Choice Award," her message began. "I am beyond bummed I couldn't make it to the show as I had every intention of being there to accept and celebrate this honor. I created an unrealistic schedule for myself which leads me to this announcement... My new single and music video 'Younger Now' will be dropping this Friday, Aug. 18th and I am sooooooo EXCITED to share it with all of you!"

Cyrus, who is currently gearing up for the release of her new album Younger Now, was not only set to receive the Ultimate Choice Award. The artist was also nominated for four surfboards, including Choice Summer Song for "Malibu," Choice Summer Female Artist, Choice Female Artist, and Choice Song by a Female Artist for "Malibu."

And the singer is no stranger to the Teen Choice Awards. She's been a staple of the show for the past decade, and even hosted the event in 2008. Given her long history with the show, it makes sense that she had such a good reason for missing it. After all, Cyrus isn't one to diss her fans.
