Actors get together to honor their own annually at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and like any high-profile Hollywood event, the ceremony is prefaced by a red carpet special. He's made an impressive career out of being one of the industry's most reliable on-camera personalities, so it's strange to see that Ryan Seacrest is not at the 2017 SAG Awards for E!'s coverage of the red carpet. But it's no cause to sound the alarm; Los Angeles hasn't migrated to the Upside Down of Stranger Things or anything. Seacrest hasn't been at the last five SAGs, so it seems like the guy just likes to sit this one out.
In Seacrest's absence, his frequent co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski are holding it down. They are by no means new to the gown game or the art of making small talk with nervous celebrities. I trust this year's awards in their very capable and well-manicured hands. And if Seacrest continues to take the night of the SAG Awards off, Rancic and Goreski could be the show's dynamic duo in the future too.
I wouldn't skip the chance to hang out with this year's SAG nominees and presenters for anything, but this is work for Seacrest. It's his job. And anyway, hasn't he already met everyone there a few times over? He doesn't appear to be shunning the SAGs for another starry gig. Seacrest's last Twitter post went up this Friday in celebration of "the freakin' weeknd," so it appears that the host is taking it easy while the rest of the E! team hits this event hard. (And that he likes puns.)

If he can't be at the SAGs, I hope Seacrest is getting in some "me time" so that he can be on top of his pre-show game in time for Academy Awards. It'll be all hands on deck for that one.
