'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Intros A New Character

Disney

As the MCU grows, there are too many characters to keep track of — but that doesn't make it any less exiting when someone new shows up. Who is the gold woman in the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 teaser? The Super Bowl TV spot gave us our first look at Elizabeth Debicki's character in the sequel to the 2014 film.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. actor plays Ayesha, who could be the Marvel comics character also called Kismet or Paragon. However, it might be more complicated than that. In the comics, that Ayesha was created by a group of scientists called The Enclave. She's fast, strong, super smart, as well as able to manipulate and project energy.

Her "twin" so to speak is a character named Adam Warlock who, according to ComicBook.com possesses the Soul Stone, the last remaining Infinity Gem. Does this mean Warlock is coming to the MCU too? Maybe! Or, perhaps, these characters will be combined.

As far as we know, Ayesha will be the villain in the second volume of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. "Just who the hell do you think you are," she asks the Guardians. According to this first look, she's already in charge of her own group of similarly gold people. There's an Art Deco look to the hall they're in, which I like.

I'm sure in the ensuing months, we'll learn more about this mysterious character. But, for now, I'm just excited to have a teaser of what's to come.
