The Bachelor Hasn't Been From The Previous 'Bachelorette' Season Plenty Of Times
Even though fans of the franchise have been spending their time obsessing over the new Bachelor in Paradise episodes, the fandom hasn't forgotten that we're still waiting to find out who will be the next Bachelor star. Unfortunately, that has not been announced just yet, but considering the options we have, it's worth asking if the next Bachelor will be from Rachel's Bachelorette season.
It's definitely likely because it has happened plenty of times before. After appearing on Season 1 of The Bachelorette, Bob Guiney became the first Bachelor to be chosen from a previous show in the franchise when he starred on Season 4. After that, the lead went back to being a a "random" choice until Season 13 when Jason Mesnick got the part after finishing in second on DeAnna Pappas' Bachelorette season. That tradition carried on from Season 14 to Season 20, minus Season 15 when Brad Womack returned for his second chance to hand out the roses.
Then, Bachelor Nation was flipped upside down when two-time Bachelorette runner-up Nick Viall was announced as the Bachelor right after he appeared on Season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise. The mold was broken and now no one knows what to expect for the future.
Yes, it's likely for the next Bachelor to be from Rachel's season. After all, there was great outcry on social media when Peter Kraus got eliminated in the finale. There has also been a lot of fan support for Rachel's other suitors including Eric Bigger, Kenny King, and Dean Unglert (well, until he showed up on Bachelor in Paradise, but according to the latest rumor from Reality Steve, it sounds like it's going to be Peter. He tweeted on Aug. 30: "(SPOILER): I feel confident in reporting that sources are telling me Peter is the next Bachelor & it will be announced soon."
Soon after, Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss tweeted: "Stand by for shocking news regarding #thebachelor ...", so it sounds like an announcement could be happening soon.
Even if Peter is announced, it's clear that the franchise left the door open for someone to stand out in Paradise this summer. Otherwise, the Bachelor could have been announced already. Host Chris Harrison confirmed this when he spoke to Entertainment Tonight and said, "Nick [Viall] popped out of Paradise if you remember, we didn't see that coming. We weren't planning on it and then it happened. I think, lesson learned, we're going to wait and just watch it all play out."
Does this mean that the next Bachelor will definitely be from Paradise? No, but it definitely keeps the fans on their toes. Unfortunately, there is no way to know who the next Bachelor is until he is officially announced, and it sounds like it will be very soon.
