This Is The One Serum I Swear By To Give My Skin A Youthful Glow

As a beauty director, this serum gets my glowing stamp of approval.

There’s been an obsession with glazed donut skin and strawberry girl makeup lately, but might I suggest another dessert to consider as the ultimate skin goal? Panna cotta skin. Think about it — panna cotta has the same sheen as a glazed donut, reflecting light from every angle, but there’s a satisfying bounce to it. And who doesn’t want bouncy skin? Since we start losing collagen in our thirties, our skin naturally starts to droop (lovely!), which is why choosing products that prioritize hydration and boost our skin’s natural ability to produce collagen is so important. Enter: philosophy’s Dose of Wisdom Bouncy Skin Reactivating Serum, a new skin-boosting serum you’ll want to drench your skin in morning and night.

The Product

You might associate philosophy with delectable-smelling body and bath products, but don’t sleep on the brand’s skin care offerings. Like all of their products, this serum is a textural delight — but it’s also backed up by some pretty impressive stats. In clinical trials, after eight weeks, 100% of people saw an improvement in skin radiance, while 94% agreed their skin felt “cushiony.” That’s probably due to the vitamin C and hyaluronic acid in the serum – two all-star skin care ingredients that have been studied extensively and proven to brighten and firm the skin. The serum also boasts a “patented vitality booster loaded with oxygen,” which claims to help your skin function at its peak, while delivering radiance, bounce and plumpness.

My Skin

Now that I’m in my 30s, I’m starting to notice fine lines and wrinkles creep up round my eyes and mouth, and just the slightest hint of sagging around my cheeks. It’s fine, everything’s fine! Everyone ages. But that doesn’t mean I’m not always on the lookout for new products to add to my arsenal. My finicky skin likes products that sink in quickly (I’m impatient) and work well with other products in my routine. I also want to start seeing some results after a week or two, whether it’s in the overall texture of my skin or just how healthy and gleamy it looks. Like I said — patience is not my virtue.

My Review

Firstly, I love how travel-friendly the bottle is. This summer I’ve been constantly on-the-go, which means the products I have with me need to be TSA-friendly — otherwise, they get left behind. Now that I’ve tried this serum for a week, I can tell you that the Dose of Wisdom Bouncy Skin Reactivating Serum will be firmly in place in my carry-on and bathroom cabinet because it’s that good.

The texture is light and milky — not too gloppy, not too watery. The Goldilocks of serum textures. Unlike other serums, it doesn’t sit on top of my skin or pill under my moisturizer. I only need two to three drops for my entire face, and it’s like a tall drink of water that my skin drinks up immediately. Afterwards, my skin looks radiant and healthy — shiny, but not like lightbulb shiny (my oily-combination skin appreciates this). The scent is light, but not overpowering, and altogether soothing — it really feels like a cooling, sensorial experience every time I apply, whether I’m winding down after a long day or trying to wake myself up groggily in the morning. I literally look forward to using it every day, which says a lot of a product. And besides the actual experience, I swear my skin looks glowier and bouncier in just a week — more panna cotta-esque.

Worth It?

If you’re looking for a serum that feels like a (gentle) wake-up call for your skin, and something to help with bounce and brightness, I’d highly recommend this milky little bottle. You won’t regret it.
