Rita Ora Is Naked But Not Really On 'Glamour'

Well, that's certainly a clever and creative way to pose naked for a magazine cover without really exposing anything, now isn't it? Rita Ora posed naked on the cover of UK Glamour, but not really. Wait, what?

The singer and actress, who stars in Southpaw, was posing for the September cover with a pleated royal blue and white dress, holding it over her body. She wasn't wearing anything, but the dress factored prominently into her pose. Who needs those thick black censorship bars when you have a dress?

Ora also rocked almond-shaped, pale pink nails and long, flowing blonde locks.

At first, I was all like, "Why bother with that beautiful frock? Either wear it or... don't." Then I realized that Ora could have resorted to the old standby — covering her boobs with her arms and hands to avoid being all kinds of x-rated, just like so many other naked celeb covers.

That would have been totally booooooring. Been there, seen that.

I admit, I love the cut of the dress and wish I could have seen it in action on an actual body. But since we get new mag covers every month and topless/nude posing is pretty standard, this was a fresh take on something that's become a tad snoozy. It's ironic that nude celebs have become ho-hum, isn't it?

You do see a little of Ora's side bum and her hip. Her tattoos are obscured, either strategically hidden with lighting, camera angles, or a whole lot of heavy duty makeup.

So yeah, she's nude but not really. At least Ora and Glamour got creative. Anyone who follows Ora's career, her repertoire of mag covers, or her Instagram feed knows the singer likes to pose naked.

But how about these 12 times that Ora was scorching hot while largely covered up this year?

Over-the-knee scarlet boots are hot any way you slice 'em.

2. The Rose

Ora really loves red. Even with the thigh-showing slit, she was literally a rose in this gown.

3. My Adidas

Her smoky, street-chic game was on fleek.

4. Get Loose

A pantsuit was certainly a way to cover up. This loose, baggy version got a boost from that choker bling.

5. Mod Squad

This matchy matchy duo of a shift and over-the-knee boots was so '60s, with just a hint of skin.

6. Bright Light

7. I Saw Red

The singer's favorite color has to be red. She's always in it.

8. Like A Boss

Another white pantsuit, this one with with a feminine cut, made Ora look like a boss.

9. Bye Bye Birdie

10. Glam Rock

This was Ora doing urban diva x glam rock star. It was so J. Lo.

11. Liquid Metal

Her liquid metal Grammy gown and pixie showed off the skin of her face, neck, and hands. But that was it.

12. Red Again

This red column shape was super unique, from the top to the bottom. And yes, she was largely covered.

Ora should totally make 2015 Best Dressed Lists thanks to this rundown of ensembles. Yes, I know. She loves posing in her birthday suit. But having her hold a dress over her body, as opposed to wearing it, reminded me that her fashion sense is on point. From pantsuits to gown, she slays.
