'Late Show' Promos Promise More Colbert Humor

by Maggie Malach

After months and months of waiting, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert will premiere on Sept. 8. The Stephen Colbert drought has been rough, but now we finally have our first look at the new show. Spoiler: Guys, it looks like it's going to be completely amazing. Colbert gave us three promos and although they're short, they're reassuring that we're still seeing the comedian doing what he does best: Charming us with his wit and humor.

In the first promo, he acts like he's ready to skip off to school, complete with a Charlie Rose Trapper Keeper. ("Dreamboat!") The second clip shows Colbert channeling his inner magician. Yep, he tells us to think of a card, any card, and then he whips out the ace of spades. "Two percent of you just freaked out," he promises. In the third promo, Colbert brings in Mitt Romney to help promote the upcoming show. The comedian jokes that the politician does a good "Romney," but the real gem here is how the former presidential candidate shows his sense of humor. "Where are the pancakes? I was told there'd be pancakes!"

We only have about a month until The Late Show With Stephen Colbert premieres, but here are seven things the promo tells us about the show.

Colbert Will Bring His Unique Humor

Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden all have their strengths, but Colbert has an understated wit that's fantastic.

There's Going To Be Great Guests

Possibly even Mitt Romney.

There Might Be Magic Tricks

Were you thinking of the ace of spades?

Colbert's Going To Be Really Enthusiastic

Don't be fooled by his cool demeanor. He must be so excited for this show.

It Will Be Unlike Any Other Late Night Show

Because Colbert is unlike any comedian out there.

He'll Keep Us Guessing

Something tells me he's going to break the mold with this one.

We're Going To Love It

Because it's Colbert and he never fails to impress.
