Anna Kendrick Is Basically Everyone's BFF

by Nicole Pomarico

There are a lot of celebrities I'd love to be friends with, but Anna Kendrick is definitely at the top of my list. After all, who doesn't want to be best friends with (or, you know, trade lives with) Kendrick? She's funny, she's intelligent, and she seems super friendly — and that's just what I know about her from following her Instagram and obsessing over everything and anything Pitch Perfect. And since she's clearly so much fun to hang out with, Kendrick obviously has a lot of celebrity friends, and the names she has in her phone contact probably read like the list of people I wish I could invite to my wedding. Taylor Swift may have put an incredible squad of girlfriends together, but Kendrick has her own group of friends, and they're basically all amazing. Like, A-List (and aca-)amazing.

After doing a little research, I've realized something pretty important: If Kendrick got all of her friends together, it would probably look a lot like the seating chart at next year's Oscars. I love my friends with all my heart, but they seem a little boring compared to Kendrick's. No offense, guys.

So who's cool enough to be in Kendrick's gang? These are just a few of her celeb pals.

1. Snoop Dogg

After he made his cameo on Pitch Perfect 2 and realized how amazing Kendrick is, I'm willing to bet that he's kept in touch with her. If not, they will always have this epic photo to remember their friendship by.

2. Aubrey Plaza

If you follow Kendrick or Plaza on Twitter, you know their BFF-ship has been regularly chronicled. And honestly, considering how funny both of these women are, it's not a surprise that they're so close. Warning: If you look too far into their friendship, you will probably be insanely jealous. Can we get them to star in a buddy comedy together, please?

3. George Clooney

Yup, ever since they starred in Up in The Air together, Kendrick and Clooney have been BFFs. And according to Kendrick's adorable story of their first meeting, Clooney was her pal from day one. Last year, while talking about what it was like to work with him, she explained:

George [Clooney] was so nice. I didn’t meet him until we were on set together. There was the first thing we shot together, we were doing a sort of walk-and-talk, and we were waiting to go, and he was like [under his breath], “Do you get nervous? I get nervous.” I was like, “Oh, my God!” It was the smallest thing, but it, like, opened up my world … He probably does that for everybody when he can tell they’re like, “What am I doing here? I don’t belong here.” Just a couple of words from [Clooney] and you’re like, “Oh, my God, he’s a person! I’m a person. WE’RE THE SAME!”

While filming Into The Woods, Kendrick and Blunt became good friends, and while on Watch What Happens Live last year, she said that Blunt actually ended up being her best friend on set. "She's real self-deprecating," Kendrick said. "You think she'd be cool and English and icy. [But] she's the kind of gal that loves a fart joke, and I appreciate that." Same.

5. Basically Every Member Of The Pitch Perfect cast

Because, duh. Working on a movie like that would make it impossible not to become close with your cast mates, and Kendrick has said that they all communicate via group text during episodes of The Bachelor. Which, let's be real, is something we all do with our friends when we bond over the same reality show.

6. Katy Perry

Once someone "finger bangs your cleavage," you are friends with said someone for life.

Yep, Kendrick is friends with my teenage imaginary boyfriend, because life is completely unfair.

Imagine this: What if Kendrick and Swift pooled their resources and combined friend groups? The universe would most definitely explode.
