Britney's So Brave In "I'm Not A Girl" Music Video

*Checks watch* Well, would you look at that! It's revisit-the-music-video-for-everyone’s-favorite-ode-to-puberty-o'clock! That music video is, but of course, the music video for Britney Spears’s “I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman”. In 2002, Spears released a vid for the second single off of Britney, and not only is it beautiful (not to toot my home state's horn, but as far as nature is concerned, Arizona really knocks it out of the Grand Canyon National Park), but it also happens to showcase just how fearless the pop star is. No green screens were used in the making of this clip, i.e., Spears really stood at the real edge of a real cliff in Antelope Canyon, AZ. Godney is so, so brave.

Perhaps you are a daredevil of sorts who has yet to meet a mountain too high or a river too raging. Perhaps you are all about skydiving, cliff jumping, shark-infested water swimming, et cetera. Perhaps you do not think the "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" music video is that big a deal. You and I are not cut from the same cloth.

If I was offered the chance to star a shot-for-shot remake of this music video (ugh, I miss Becoming ), I'd have to decline. I am a nervous nincompoop who panics when I have to walk up a flight of railing-less stairs (What if a moth suddenly dive-bombs at my head and I freak out and lose my balance and reach for a banister that isn't there only to tumble down all of the steps?), so traipsing out to the edge of a precipice would be out of the question. There are so many moments in this vid that I personally would not be able to handle. I will share those moments now:
