I love drama, especially Real Housewives drama, but this Meghan and Shannon feud on Real Housewives of Orange County is getting old. It's like the gift that keeps on giving, but it's a gift that I don't want anymore. From the very beginning of the season, Shannon and Meghan have butt heads about basically everything, but it all stems from that damn phone call that occurred before the season started filming. And after all that, the two Housewives clash once more on vacation in Moorea, because it wouldn't be a vacation on Real Housewives without an explosive fight.
Earlier on the vacation, Tamra mentioned to Meghan that Meghan came up in conversation with Vicki and Shannon the night before regarding Meghan's husband's second wife. Clearly a comment like this would peak someone's interest. Never has someone said "We were talking about you last night," and the person has responded "Oh, don't tell me what it was about." So Meghan clearly poked around a little bit to learn about the conversation that happened while she was away, which seemed to ignite a bit of a fuse inside of her.
Then again, I don't think much of a fuse needed to be lit in Meghan. Shannon and Meghan's relationship has been uncomfortable since the get go. It's one of those relationships where they can say there's nothing wrong, but there's definitely something wrong. So when the women reunited together, Meghan clearly brought up her conversation with Tamra, which then sparked Shannon's fire.
There's so many sparked fires on this episode.
Meghan and Shannon ended up fighting for what seemed like forever. Maybe it's because we've heard this argument a million times before. Shannon says Meghan makes her feel uncharitable, and Shannon still harbors a lot of ill-will about the "Judgy Eyes" scandal. Meghan accuses Shannon of storming out of rooms whenever she is confronted by other people, to which Shannon responds by storming out of the room.
But then, the sun set and a new sun (same sun) rose the next day. Believe it or not, Meghan apologized to Shannon for making her feel bad. Shannon — shocked — accepted the apology and vowed to move on. Is this actually going to last? Probably not, but the fact that the episode ended on a high note is a nice change for once.
