Man Repeller's Podcast Is Required Listening

by Tyler Atwood

If you're a devotee of quirky, outre style paired with a witty attitude, Man Repeller blogger Leandra Medine's new podcast "Oh Boy" may just be for you. After manning her much-adored fashion and lifestyle blog for five years, Medine has decided to take the company in yet other innovative direction by debuting her audio project on SoundCloud. Those who enjoy Medine's musings will by equally entranced by the fashionista's podcast, produced by Man Repeller's Jay Buim.

Simply by reading Medine's short introduction to "Oh Boy" on Man Repeller, one can simply imagine the ear candy that is Medine's podcast, and the recording itself does not disappoint. "The first episode of Oh Boy bends the rules by foregoing the clause about cool women to feature one weird one, or the artist formerly known as me," Medine writes to her followers. "Listen to it while you meditate, drive home from work, eat cereal, walk to the grocery shop to buy avocados, breast feed your baby or walk aimlessly through the streets near your home and then let us know what you think. We look forward to connecting with your ear lobes."

The premiere episode encapsulates Medine's whimsical personality and ability to inject her appealingly down-to-earth manner into every facet of her life. It should be no surprise that Medine has ventured into this creative new realm of narrative. The blogger is renowned for embracing trends others find fearsome and has long since conquered the visual and written mediums for her blog, singing the praises of under appreciated trends such as mullet hemlines, skirts over jeans, and metallics for daytime.

Furthermore, the Medine is only the latest sartorial persona to jump aboard the fashion podcast train. Joe Zee's "Unbuttoned" by Yahoo Style seeks to interview fresh faces and established designers during each installment for those who adore peeking into the minds of the elite, while Chanel's podcast is sheer, unadulterated luxury at its finest. Meanwhile, the MODTV Fashion Video Podcast offers the very best in sartorial reports.

Each podcast serves as a delightful reminder that fashion is meant to be experienced visually and orally, so break out those rose gold Beats by Dre headphones and get ready for a healthy dose of design knowledge.
