Austin's Height Can't Hide His Creepiness On 'BB'

by Sally Mercedes

It seems to be a given at this point that most viewers find Austin creepy on Big Brother 17 , but it didn't start out that way. I know I'm not alone in thinking at first that he had the tall, dark, and handsome thing going for him, in a scruffy, bad boy kind of way. Just how tall is Austin? According to his pro wrestling wiki entry, the wrestler known as Judas is 6'5. I know handsome is subjective, but he's definitely got the muscular body and tattoos going for him there.

Even beyond his potential good looks, theoretically, there are more than a couple of reasons fans may have been attracted to Austin. Sadly, it seems that the longer we're exposed to him, the more his attractiveness takes a hit. And, yes, there's more to it than him possibly cheating on his girlfriend on national television, although that's obviously a big offense on the creepy side of things.

Here are four things Austin's got going for him, along with five reasons why they just can't hide the creep factor. And for more on this season of Big Brother and Austin's increasingly upsetting behavior, check out Bustle's podcast The Diary Room below.

Pro: The Muscles

Austin works out several hours each day, and if you like muscular guys, you were probably into his physique. Even before Liz started saying she actually developed feelings for Austin, she admitted she liked his muscular body. His height helps out in that department, as do his tattoos.

Pro: The Tattoos

Maybe I'm just a sucker for a man with tattoos, but Austin's tats are hot. Well, with the exception of that Big Brother tattoo, but I'll even let that slide because I'm also such a BB fan.

Pro: He Is Well-Read & Articulate

He's got a Master's in Medieval Literature, and he's not afraid to use it. Ask him to tell you which literary hero each houseguest represents, and he'll give you quite a thorough explanation.

Pro: He Cleans Up Nice

The houseguests joke that any time Austin puts on a shirt, that's his version of formal wear, and while I wouldn't quite go that far, when he wants to clean up, it works.

Sadly, none of these attributes can make up for some of the creepier ones.

Con: He Makes Really Creepy Faces

Why does he do this? I don't know, but it weirds me out.

Con: His First Kiss With Liz

Just. No.

Con: Everything About Their Showmance

When Liz was very obviously not into Austin, he seemed to be the only person who didn't see this. It still grosses me out to think about basically every interaction they had until Liz recently decided she likes Austin too.

Con: His Awful Convo With James About Sexism

For some reason, James turned to Austin to find out if Becky's opinion that he's sexist was accurate. They proceeded to talk about how no way are either of them sexist, and went from there to making ignorant remarks about racism.

Con: How He "Broke Up" With His Girlfriend By Kissing Liz

Mmmmmkay.

The bad really outweighs the good here, especially because the bad just keeps on coming. Come on Austin, give us a reason to like you again.
