Autumn is shaping up to look mighty sweet — Dunkin' Donuts Reese's Peanut Butter squares arrive in stores Aug. 31 as part of the chain's upcoming fall menu, and is it possible for me to order a dozen in advance? Because these look seriously amazing.
The coffee and doughnut chain is teaming up with Hershey's to offer up this latest menu item, which looks just as delicious as it sounds. Doughnuts come stuffed full of the creamy peanut butter that made Reese's Peanut Butter Cups the only candy of your childhood that ever mattered, and are topped with orange and brown frosting to mimic the classic Reese's packaging. There's no question that these are going to taste absolutely, 100 percent wonderful, though I do have to wonder just when, exactly, these are meant to be consumed. For breakfast? Dessert? Oh, it doesn't matter. As an official grownup, you have license to devour these whenever the heck you please.
Of course, if you are more of the pumpkin persuasion, Dunkin' is also serving up a pumpkin cheesecake square starting Aug. 31. I think this one might possibly intrigue me even more — pumpkin and cheesecake sound like two things that should really never be apart. The tasty DD creation comes with a pumpkin cheesecake filling, and is topped with graham cracker crumble, which is pretty much the exact recipe for perfection. Nice move, Dunkin' Donuts. Nice move.
As for the rest of Dunkin' Donuts' fall menu? You can expect to see it return Aug. 31. Unsurprisingly, pumpkin products abound in this year's lineup, which includes hot and cold pumpkin coffee and lattes, as well as pumpkin doughnuts, doughnut holes, and muffins. And just in case you aren't in the mood for pumpkin (which is crazy, but I'll let you do you), don't forget that Dunkin's Chips Ahoy doughnut is still up for grabs, just in case you're craving a few chocolate chips to go along with your morning cup of coffee.
Personally, I can't wait for all things pumpkin to finally arrive in stores. Summer has been great, and I'm going to miss the warm weather, but I can say with complete honesty that I've missed pumpkin-flavored everything even more. If these Dunkin' Donuts menu items prove anything, it's that life just tastes better in the fall.
