Kaley Cuoco Enduces Hair Envy With A Braided Crown

by Melodi Erdogan

Every time this Big Bang Theory actress appears on the red carpet she seems to be rocking a new 'do. But Kaley Cuoco's braided crown hairstyle, which she debuted on Instagram, is easily the prettiest, most angelic style we've seen her sport as of late.

Between a pixie cut, bright pink hair, and long flowing waves, Cuoco has proved herself a to be a master hair chameleon. If I had her naturally gorgeous dirty blonde locks and her fun, charismatic attitude toward beauty, I would probably want to change things up every other day too — alas, I'm to much of a wuss to even get a trim. She always rocks her looks with confidence and poise. But her latest braided crown style is by far one of the most stunning looks I've seen on Cuoco's mane in a minute.

The actress' natural blonde and ashy hair coloring works so well with the thick braid she wore wrapped around her head. I love how the super blonde streaks provide a stark but complimentary contrast with her darker roots, but still play well against her flawless skin. While I can totally see where the bobby pins are holding her braid to her head (notice the one right above the tip of her ear?), it's such a pretty hairstyle that so perfectly frames her face while being both done-up and un-done, all at the same time.

This isn't the first time Cuoco has rocked the hairstyle. In fact, she did it while her hair was bright pink for a special Mane Addicts photo shoot. This is style is just as pretty, but even more girly due to the pink strands.

For me, personally, braids have always been an easy solution to the conundrum of "what in the world should I do with my hair." They're simple to do, don't require many materials (a hairbrush and a scrunchy will do it), and take almost no time at all. While the braided crown definitely looks complex and difficult, it's still a braid — it may take a few tries to get it right, but it's so easy and pretty. This is guaranteed to become one of your favorite go-to hairstyles.

So, with inspiration from Cuoco herself and some help from the hair gurus of YouTube, here are five tutorials to take you step-by-step through getting that braided crown look.

1. Dutch Braid

Kayley Melissa is a hair queen. By making two dutch braids and adding some extra texture and detail, she creates a look truly fit for royalty.

2. For Shorter Hair

No, you don't have to have the mane of a mermaid to achieve this hairstyle. Instead of just making two braids though, you'll be creating four. YouTube channel Treasures & Travels shows you exactly how to pin it up to make it look like a crown.

3. Wrap-Around

If you do have super long hair — and super strong arm muscles — this tutorial is for you. Creating one long wrap-around dutch braid can help you simplify the process. Although Abby Smith admits this look will take more practice, it's definitely worth it, because the braid looks big, fluffy, absolutely gorgeous when you're done.

4. For Natural Hair

FashionIsARemix shows her viewers with natural hair how to rock a braid crown, it's beyond easy to do. Again, get ready to hold your arms above your head for a while, but the look comes together with one gorgeous braid that is perfect for any occasion.

5. Undone

Like I mentioned before, I like how this hairstyle is undone and soft. Roxxsaurus shows us how exactly to get that just-slept-in-but-absolutely-beautiful style with this dutch halo braid. Her braid is by no means perfect, but that's what makes it so awesome.
