Perhaps one of the most refreshing things about stars is when they aren't afraid to take some fashion risks. One of those celebs is TV's favorite funny gal — Mindy Kaling's clutch at the 2015 Emmys killed the fashion game, and was paired with a stunning yellow gown that featured a straight beaded waistline and capped sleeves.
Kaling actually teased her look on her Instagram page, posting a photo just of her personalized clutch with a sneak peek of her bright gown. The golden square clutch is jam-packed with glitter, and in black cursive font, reads Mindy. This cute clutch was designed by Edie Parker, and gives her look a fun, personal touch that I definitely won't forget.
Caught in her Instagram were her merlot red nails and gold statement ring. Her full look also consisted of large gold earrings (which were pretty much stealing the show) and her elegant yellow gown, that had gold embellishments throughout. With a capped sleeve and round neck, it was a beautiful gown in a gorgeous hue that made her practically glow. As for her hair, she kept it sleek with a deep part and tucked behind her ears.
This isn't the first time she's worn the yellow hue, and for good reason, it seems. One of my favorite looks of hers was from The Golden Globes in 2009, in a floor-length, one-shoulder gown in a bright yellow color that basically made her look like a Grecian goddess. Also, we're all familiar with her yellow peacoat in The Mindy Project, where we see her getting into all sorts of hilarious trouble.
Ryan Seacrest did get the scoop on the new season of The Mindy Show. Evidently, it's going to get a little, er, racier. "People love raciness. My staff and I are a little perverted," Kaling said in a red carpet interview. I'm always a fan of a little raunchiness here and there. Kaling also briefly talked to Seacrest about her new memoir, which came out last week. That's definitely going to be on my book list.
As someone who's a big fan of yellow, the envy for Mindy Kaling's look tonight is too real. And that dark red lip she went for? I'm a fan. Let's all agree that canary yellow is Mindy Kaling's new color.
