Kylie Jenner & Tyga Might Be Engaged, Y'all
Guys, this is not a drill. Kylie Jenner and Tyga may have only recently taken their relationship public after Jenner turned 18 last month, but they've reportedly been dating on the DL for more than a year, and now, it looks like they might be ready to make thing official. On Wednesday night, Jenner shared a Snapchat video of Tyga calling her his fiancée, which sent basically all of her followers into a massive tailspin. Are Jenner and Tyga actually engaged?! It looks that way. In the video, Tyga talks about how he doesn't you-know-what with anyone... except for his dog and his fiancée. That's pretty much all that's said on the topic, and unfortunately, neither Jenner nor Tyga has confirmed or denied whether or not they're actually engaged.
It wouldn't be that surprising if the news was true, especially since Tyga and Jenner have been pretty much obsessed with each other since the moment they met, despite their age difference. And in the video, Tyga mentions the title so casually, like this is something that's been going on for a long time. What is happening?! I need details. In case you missed the Snapchat and want to see the evidence for yourself, this is the video:
Congratulations might be in order for these two if the rapper's not just messing with us... and I have a feeling there's at least a little bit of sincerity in his words. The only thing that's making me doubt it is the fact that E! has sources close to the famous family who are refuting the idea that they're engaged, and even that isn't directly from either half of this relationship. Earlier this summer, Jenner tweeted that she's not getting married anytime soon, which fans interpreted as her confirming that she's not engaged. But really, the tweet could mean something else — that she is engaged and just isn't planning on throwing her dream wedding until she's older.
Whether or not Jenner and Tyga are engaged, though, it's not anyone's place to judge the decision they've made. Just as we shouldn't shame people for waiting too long to get married, we shouldn't shame people for wanting to get married early in life, either. Jenner is 18 now, and she's made it more than clear that she's ready to take on responsibility for her own life. Regardless of how immature and ridiculous most of us might have been at 18 — especially me — Jenner owns her own house, spends most of her time with people who are older than her, and is in control of her own career. If she wants to get married, I'm OK with it.
And if it ends up being a mistake? It's their mistake to make. For now, I'm ready to sit back and enjoy the show, because if Jenner and Tyga really are engaged, it's going to be so much fun to watch on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
