'The Grinder' Cast Will Seem Familiar To You

by Kaitlin Reilly

It seems like every week there's some sort of new law procedural on TV, but, now, we're getting a series that gives us a fictional peak behind the curtain as to what happens to a TV lawyer once their show is cancelled. Instead of kicking back and watching the rerun checks come in, the former television lawyer on new FOX series The Grinder wants to become an actual lawyer — much to the dismay of his brother, whom has been practicing real law the entire time his brother was acting like a lawyer. The Grinder will premiere on FOXon Sept. 29, but it's not just the lawyer lingo that may seem familiar to you after years of watching procedural dramas: The Grinder 's cast has plenty of familiar faces too.

If you're looking for a comedy that has all of your favorite sitcom characters in one place, look no further than this FOX series. Parks and Rec fans will be stoked to see their beloved Rob Lowe once again as the titular "Grinder" — or, rather, as the actor who once played TV lawyer The Grinder. Here's who's who in the cast, and where you may already know them from:

The former Parks and Recreation actor returns to network comedy as Dean Sanderson, a Hollywood television star who returns to his small town after his lawyer drama, The Grinder, gets axed. Though Dean impresses everyone in his hometown, the one person more annoyed than excited by his presence is his brother, Stewart.

With The Grinder and Girl Meets World, we now have both Savage brothers back on our television screens. Savage plays lawyer and family man Stewart, who may have the brain of a lawyer, but lacks the courtroom chemistry of his actor bro.

Ellis wrecked Nick's heart on New Girl as his ex Caroline, and has appeared on shows like It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Happy Endings. Ellis plays Debbie, Stewart's wife who has a past romantic history with TV star Dean.

The 24 actor is taking a break from being serious to star on the series as Stewart and Dean's father, Dean Sr., who gets a little caught up in all the hype surrounding his television actor son.

Hana Hayes

Young actress Hayes, who has appeared on shows like Criminal Minds and Law and Order: SVU, plays Lizzie, the rebellious teen daughter of Stewart and Debbie.

Conor Kalopsis

Kalopsis, who previously worked on Days Of Our Lives and appeared on Sam & Cat, plays Ethan, Hana's smart (if not super cool) younger brother.
