Early this morning, fans of mega-talented, fashion-boundary-pushing superstar Rihanna were treated to a new, daring look per the singer's Instagram. Rihanna wore a green mesh dress from Laquan Smith and it took the ever growing trend of the naked dress and created a captured mermaid fantasy that was killer. While the dress is not for the faint of heart, Rihanna rocked the look wearing what looks to be only a slim black bikini underneath. RiRi is no stranger to daring looks though and given that she's been on the shores of Brazil, the looks is totally appropriate. I wouldn't expect anything less from the daring fashionista.
This isn't the first time that Rihanna has rocked a see-through ensemble before. Arguably one of the "BBHMM" singer's most notable outfits was made almost entire of sequins and fishnets. When Rihanna attended the CFDA awards back in 2014, the singer wore an absolutely spectacular sequin ensemble that was completely sheer save for the nude illusion bikini bottom she sported underneath. The dress made waves on the red carpet for the event, but to be honest, seeing her in anything less jaw dropping would have been a bit of a let down. After all, Rihanna has topped best dress lists for her willingness to try risky and boundary pushing fashion.
Early Monday morning, Rihanna posted an Instagram of her in Brazil presumable after performing at Rock in Rio. The singer sported a daring green mesh dress that is reminiscent of some gorgeous, ethereal mermaid caught in a net. The design by Laquan Smith was "mean money green" as Rihanna explained on her Instagram, and I can't help but think how perfect it would have been for that yacht scene in "BBHMM."
While I doubt that's what the fashion forward star was aiming toward, it was definitely the first place my mind jumped. With the eye catching dress, Rihanna rocked white platform sneakers and a long silver chain around her neck. With her hair in large waves and red lip game strong, the singer walked through the crowds looking as gorgeous as ever.
You can always count of Rihanna to look fierce, even when she's not wearing much at all.
