Will Kim Return To 'DWTS'?

by Lindsay Denninger

Our dearest, sweetest queen of Dancing With The Stars Kim Zolciak Biermann is, of course, never tardy for a party, so it was a bit of a shock to some people when Kim was missing from tonight’s competition. It turns out, after last week’s episodes, Kim had a medical incident in which the entire left side of her body went numb. While I’m glad she’s on the mend, I have just one question — will Kim Zolciak return to Dancing With The Stars ?

What happened to Kim was a sort of “mini-stroke”, also known as a transient ischemic attack (TIA). According to Stroke.org, a TIA happens when blood flow is cut off to part of the brain for a short time. While symptoms appear and last for less than a day, a TIA can be a sign that a stroke may happen, so they’re best not to be ignored. Poor Kim was in the hospital for three days.

When asked about her health, Kim issued a statement through her rep:

"I want to thank everyone for their love and support over the past few days. I am now home with my family, resting and taking care of my health. I can't express enough how much I love dancing and this whole experience, and I hope this will not be the end of dancing."

Unfortunately, this looks like the end of the road for Kim and Tony. During a Skype session on tonight’s episode, Tom Bergeron announced that, due to a stipulation in all of the contestant’s contracts, any injured or sick contestant who can’t complete for a week must withdraw from the show (I think that’s a little bit of legal to cover their butts, too). Though Kim is home from the hospital, she couldn’t fly to Los Angeles from Atlanta this week. Tony and Kim were visibly disappointed, but Tony valiantly said that Kim’s health was much more important than any dancing show. Hear, hear! Although I’ll be sad to see Kim go, I’m happy that she’s getting better.
