Kris Jenner Was Mad About Caitlyn's 'VF' Interview
Over the past few months since Caitlyn Jenner came out about her transition to living life as a woman, she's let us Kardashian fans get to know her pretty intimately. Between her About Bruce special and her I Am Cait docuseries, we know a lot about her journey — but what about how her family felt? Although Kim and her sisters (and even Kris) appeared on the show a few times, we never really got to get their side of the story... but now, we do. On this season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, E! is giving us a glimpse into what they've been going through this year, and it's obvious Caitlyn's Vanity Fair interview really upset the Kardashians (even I Am Cait referenced that). But, why?
If you never read the entire interview, you might be a little confused. Why would they be upset about Caitlyn's big debut in the world? Unfortunately, though, in expressing her experiences, Caitlyn ended up making Kris look pretty bad in the process.
When talking about her marriage to Kris, she said:
The first 15 years I felt [Kris] needed me more because I was the breadwinner. Then, really around [the time of KUWTK], when that hit and she was running the whole show and getting credit for it and she had her own money, she didn’t need me as much from that standpoint… I think in a lot of ways she became less tolerant of me. A lot of times she wasn't very nice. People would see how I got mistreated. She controlled the money, all that kind of stuff.
And then, that passage led to this, which is a clip from Sunday's upcoming KUWTK episode:
If Caitlyn truly did feel mistreated, then that's her prerogative to talk about it. But, there are always two sides to every story, and it would be surprising if Kris wasn't at least a little justified in being upset about it, especially since all of her kids are, too.
So far, it definitely seems like Caitlyn's transition has strengthened them as a family unit, but I'm looking forward to seeing how they handle this one. Will there be an apology? A huge blowup? Tears? Yeah, I'm willing to bet that with this family, there will definitely be tears. But, hopefully they'll all work it out in the end as they always do.
