The first thing to be aware of when creating your own face mask is that you need to know how your skin will react to the ingredients. This is important. Before slathering anything on your face, do a patch test on the inside of your arm. If your skin becomes red or irritated, avoid putting that ingredient or mask on your face. You don't want to end up with a harmful allergic reaction. After you've checked for allergies, mix up your ingredients. These masks are a little messy, so you might want to apply them over a sink. However, after you see what these masks can do for your skin, you won't mind a little mess. They're that good. So, if you're looking to keep your skin hydrated this fall, here are a few easy recipes for at-home face masks.

  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda

This mask is great for those who want to hydrate and exfoliate their skin in the same step. The baking soda provides gentle exflotiation, while the honey is a natural humectant. This means that they honey draws moisture from the air, and brings it into the skin for deep hydration. The banana tops off this luxurious mask for providing a plethora of vitamins that hydrate and brighten the skin.

Application

First of all, this mask smells absolutely amazing. Seriously, you'll want to bathe in this stuff. Second, it feels great on the skin. It tends to feel a bit goopy at first, but it dries within a few minutes. For added exfoliation, rub in the mask as you wash it off. This will really work the baking soda into your skin, and gets rid of any nasty dead skin cells. Let this mask soak into your skin for ten minutes in order to achieve maximum hydration.

Dry skin girls know that it's hard to achieve a natural glow. However, this mask is the answer to all of your prayers. This mask packs a serious punch against dry, dull skin.
