Connie Britton Is One Step Closer to Playing Sen. Davis

by Kate Ward

What Would Tami Taylor Do? Hopefully play reproductive rights hero Wendy Davis in a movie. Especially after hearing that Connie Britton, the star of the dearly departed Friday Night Lights, will be partnering with the female-friendly Planned Parenthood.

During the month of July, Britton, along with Planned Parenthood, will be releasing a t-shirt that reads, "What Would Tami Taylor Do?" The shirt is meant to recall the televised Texan woman, who served as an example of strength on the series.

Said Britton in a statement, "The character Tami on Friday Night Lights is a Texas woman deeply committed to her community and to standing up for what is right for her neighbors and the people she loves. I have been inspired by how people around the country have united to stand with the women of Texas, and I can't help but think that, in this moment, we all have the opportunity to join with and become strong, powerful Texas men and women."

Only one question remains: Why a shirt and not shoes?
