Do This When You Don't Have Time To Do Your Hair
I love a good styled blowout as much as the next girl, and my curling iron and I are pretty much the best of friends. But on days that I don't have time for breakfast, let alone doing my hair, I turn to some quick and easy tricks to cut my hair styling time down to one minute. So I'll let you in on the one thing to do when you don't have time to do your hair.
I'm a tried and true shampoo hater. I've taught my hair how to go several days between washes, and it's longer, stronger, and healthier because of the reduction in heat styling (I'm a blow-dry junkie). So, my current morning routine isn't actually too bad, and I wear my hair down almost every day. I put my hair in a bun during my shower, then quickly heat style it with my 1.5-inch curling iron. My morning makeup and hair routine takes less than 20 minutes, and I feel much more pulled together because of it.
But sometimes I'm running late in the morning and don't have time for elaborate makeup (eyeliner, I'm looking at you) or hair. On those days, I opt to put my hair up in a simple braided bun.
So cute, right? More importantly, easy! I love how fast and simple this tutorial is, and it really does take less than two minutes to do in the morning if you're decent at braiding your own hair. In the tutorial, the video blogger teased her roots and left out her bangs for some extra cuteness, but this style looks just as good if your roots are volumized with dry shampoo instead.
Don't have the hairstyling skills required in the video? This 30-second top knot tutorial will save you.
This video shows how simple it really is to put a sleek, stylish top knot together when you're running late. These styles are so cute I actually would wear them any day of the week as well. If you have shorter hair that doesn't fit into a top knot, follow this tutorial as well, but just put up the top half of your hair.
With these simple tutorials, you'll be good to go the next time you opt to hit the snooze button a few too many times.
If you wake up early and energized, take on Bustle's blowout tutorial. I promise you won't regret it.
