Demi Lovato Singing the National Anthem = Chills

by Maggie Malach

It's pretty much science that everything Demi Lovato sings is amazing. (Please refer to this emotional performance of "Stone Cold.") It's a given that when Lovato stepped up to the mic to perform the National Anthem at Game 4 of the World Series on October 31, she sounded absolutely incredible.

Clad in red leather jacket and a matching pencil skirt, Lovato's performance started off understated but quickly gained momentum as the song progressed. If you need indication of how moving her voice was in real life, skip ahead to the one-minute mark, where Lovato pauses for a breath and people begin to cheer. Seriously, I'm sitting here with the most hair-raising goosebumps ever.

As amazing as this rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" is, it's not the first time a singer has wowed audiences by performing the National Anthem. It's a high-pressure situation — a massive audience and a powerful song — so it's a given that not every performance goes smoothly. But when it does, it's absolutely jaw-dropping.

Prepare to be amazed and check out Lovato singing the National Anthem in the video below. Love that? Then be sure to watch 11 other singers' incredible renditions of the song below.
