Is Comet The Dog Coming Back For 'Fuller House'?

by Courtney Lindley

In Netflix's recently announced spinoff of the beloved 90's classic, Full House, little DJ Tanner is all grown up and filling in the footsteps of her father's single parenting life. Fuller House was ordered for a solid 13 episodes on Netflix and features most of the old cast. All your favorites are pretty much back in action, give or take a Michelle Tanner or two. I guess you really could say that this is a fuller house. But here's someone you might not expect to make a return: Comet the Golden Retriever. According to a recent instagram picture Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky), posted, it looks like there might be a Golden Retriever on set. Obviously this couldn't be the original Comet (who probably wasn't played by just one dog anyway), because, well, it's been 20 years. Nonetheless, how perfect would a reprisal of Comet be?

Fuller House is the gift that keeps on giving. Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie), Andrea Barber (Kimmy), John Stamos (Uncle Jesse), Bob Saget (Danny Tanner) and Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey) are all reported to be in some form or another, part of the show. (Though the main characters will be D.J., Stephanie, Kimmy, and D.J.'s children.) Even the man behind the house, the show's creator Jeff Franklin, has returned as executive producer, and the show's original EPs, Thomas L. Miller and Robert L. Boyett are back too. Now we have a hint that maybe Comet might be in the picture? Yes, please.

Too perfect you say? That's what I thought. While fans of Loughlin's are speculating all over her post that this must mean Comet — or Comet Version 2.0 — will make an appearance, it's not been confirmed yet. After all, we can't really tell if this is Loughlin even on set for Fuller House. (According to Fuller House's IMDb page, she's only featured in one episode.) It could just be a picture of her and her own dog, or a friend's dog? However, if that's the case, the inner Michelle Tanner in me right now is definitely saying "How rude." You shouldn't tease us like that Loughlin! Not when adorable Golden Retrievers are in the mix. It's just unfair.

Whether this Golden has any affiliation with Fuller House or not, I think we can all agree that Comet deserves a place on the show. Paws — er, hands — down.
