Lamar's Hospital Stay Shouldn't Be On 'KUWTK'
After a pretty short hiatus, Keeping Up With the Kardashians is finally back this Sunday, and a lot has happened in the lives of my favorite reality family since the last time we saw them. The biggest thing, though? Lamar Odom being hospitalized after he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel. Since then, he and Khloe called off their divorce, and she's been at his bedside as he recovers — pretty sweet, since they've been estranged for a long time now. But will we see any of Lamar's hospitalization on KUWTK ?
At first, reports came out saying that the cameras were rolling at the hospital in Las Vegas, where Lamar was brought right after he was found. As the rumor mill story goes, Kris Jenner was running around, shoving cameras in everyone's face and making sure the emotion and the drama of the moment was captured. Now, I know that Kris isn't exactly the most tactful lady, but when I read this story, I highly doubted it. After all, that was a pretty private moment between her daughter and the man she's still married to, and I have a hard time believing she'd be that insensitive. Give her some credit!
But it didn't take long before E! set the record straight. They quickly released a statement last month saying, "We are saddened to hear of [Lamar's] condition, and are sending out thoughts and prayers for his recovery. Keeping Up with the Kardashians is not currently shooting in Las Vegas." So that basically nips any rumors of Lamar being featured during his health scare in the bud.
However, People — who is generally pretty reputable — says that cameras were filming when Khloe and her family got the news about Lamar and headed out on a private jet to be at his side. No news on whether or not that piece of intel is true, but it wouldn't be surprising to see what's going on in the rest of the family while the Lamar stuff was going on. If that does air, though, don't expect a funny episode. It's so heartbreaking to see Khloe upset, especially since she's usually the comic relief!
And while Lamar's hospitalization would make good television, it's more important that he and Khloe have their privacy at such a rough time. They have enough to worry about with Lamar's recovery, and that should be the only thing he has to worry about right now. Here's hoping he's back on his feet soon!
