Miley Cyrus finally kicked off her Dead Petz tour last night in Chicago, and with it debuted a new look. Keeping in theme of the her album's wild, free-spirited, hippie-rave vibe, Cyrus dyed her eyebrows blue and I'm actually surprised that she hadn't thought of this sooner. Earlier this year, the singer dyed her armpit hair pink and was praised for it's body-positive message.
Before she hit the stage at Chicago's Riviera Theatre to perform songs from her latest album and classics like "We Can't Stop," Cyrus debuted her blue brows with a backstage selfie on Instagram. Her thick brows were colored in with a dark aqua shade. She further accentuated her eye makeup with long lashes and an assortment of sparkly, jeweled flowers and a rubber duck. She posted a bunch of pre-concert snapshots along with her tour mates The Flaming Lips and even a couple of queens from RuPaul's Drag Race.
Once she took the stage, Cyrus' blue eyebrows definitely complemented the party vibe atmosphere of her show. It's bright and fun, but if anyone can pull this off, it's definitely the "Dooo It" pop star. A few months ago, actress Kaley Cuoco dyed her eyebrows pink to match her cotton candy-colored hair. I wonder if the almighty Miley will be rocking a blue 'do soon OR just changing up her brow color with different neon hues for the duration of her tour.
Blue da ba dee.
While there's a method to dye your eyebrows a different color, makeup artist and YouTube Siobhan McDonnell (LetzMakeup) suggests using these beauty items to color your brows without having to bleach them:
1. Eye Pencil
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil, $4.50, nyxcosmetics.com
Using a white eye pencil creates a blank canvas on your brows that you can then color in with your favorite bright eyeshadow.
2. Lip Pencil
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, $26, narscosmetics.com
The lip pencil has a stickier hold, but it's also easier to use because you don't have to prep your brows white (with an eye pencil or grease paint) before applying the color.
Hard Candy 1000 Lashes Primer, $6, walmart.com
White mascara or a primer like the one above applied to your brows also allows you to color it in with a fun shade afterwards.
Make Up For Ever Lip Palette, $39, makeupforever.com
McDonnell suggests applying a coat of your favorite lipstick color and then adding a layer of shadow over it. Watch her YouTube tutorial below on how to rock colored brows:
