Someone Mashed Up 'Star Wars' & 'GotG' & It's Epic

The world of the Internet never ceases to amaze me, and I mean that in more than an "Oh, my God, I've seen some truly terrifying and perturbing things on the Internet" kind of way. There are plenty of instances where the World Wide Web is awe-inspiring in a positive sense, and the Star Wars and Guardians of the Gala x y mashup trailer below is definitely one of them. Though let's be real here, most of the things I've witnessed on the Internet have fallen into the category of creepy and weird. It's just that seeing Darth Vader in the same trailer as Rocket Raccoon seems to cancel all that out, even for a little while.

So what's the deal with this whole mashup trailer thing? As Entertainment Weekly points out, it's a fan-made video by Alex Luthor, posted on YouTube. You see, Luthor mixed together the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer with scenes from Guardians of the Galaxy and created something that geeks of both film franchises can salivate over. You're going to want to set whatever skeptical or snide remarks you have aside if you don't believe me, because until you've seen this trailer for yourself, you can't possibly know how seamless the mashup really is. If I didn't know better, I'd think the trailer for Star Wars: Guardians of the Galaxy was real. In fact, if it was real, I'd be buying a ticket to the midnight premiere right now. Wouldn't you?
