Kylie Jenner's Anxious About Her Parents
Going through your parents' divorce is difficult enough, but going through their divorce while your dad is transitioning and living in the public eye the whole time? I can't even imagine how hard that must be, but it's the reality Kylie and Kendall Jenner have been living over the past year. And unfortunately, they end up getting caught in the middle — especially when an important day like a holiday comes up. On this week's episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kylie stresses out about inviting Kris and Caitlyn to her birthday party, and it prompts her mom to finally meet the new Caitlyn for the first time after her transition.
It all started when Kylie admitted she was thinking about skipping an 18th birthday celebration because she didn't want to deal with the drama between Kris and Caitlyn, especially since Caitlyn's bummed she didn't get an invite to her grad party. So, Kris ends up deciding to throw Kylie a dinner, invite Caitlyn, and make an effort to meet her in person for the first time, post-transition.
And, of course, it wasn't that simple. Because is it ever with these people? Seeing Kris and Caitlyn meet is nothing new; it was filmed for I Am Cait, which aired over the summer. But seeing Kris' point of view was interesting, because even though it seemed like the visit helped them restore some peace, it actually made Kris even more mad. She brought up the whole Vanity Fair thing and Caitlyn wasn't as sympathetic to Kris' cause as she'd hoped, and by the time the actual dinner rolled around and Caitlyn was late, Kris was less than impressed.
And, this led to plenty of boozing and plenty of dissatisfied looks from Kris... but little by little, they both seemed to get more comfortable with the situation, especially after Kim broke the ice by asking Kris and Caitlyn to pose for a selfie with her.
I have a feeling this family is going to be just fine, challenges and all.
