Celebs Who Give Back During The Holidays

Sometimes it's easy to forget that the holiday season isn't only about receiving presents from family, friends, and loved ones. As fun as it is to open presents and gift someone with something they asked for, it's important to remember that giving back to those in need during the holidays should also be a priority. Whether it's by donating money, putting presents in your local Toys for Tots bin, ringing the bell for the Salvation Army, or working at a soup kitchen, there is no wrong way to give back. And many well-known celebrities give back during the holidays and get in on the action, too.

Obviously, many celebs are known for their philanthropic ways. However, there are some famous faces who try to give back every year during the holidays. The holidays, which are supposed to be about joy and love, can sometimes be a tough time for those facing hardship. Thankfully, there are public figures willing to take matters into their own hands and try to put a little joy into the holiday season for those who might not really be feeling it.

That said, here are a few celebs doing just that.

Lisa Rinna & Harry Hamlin

Every time I see a story about celebrities volunteering for the Los Angeles Mission, an organization dedicated in helping those in need with a warm meal during the holidays, you know who's in the crowd? Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna, Mad Men actor Harry Hamlin, and their two daughters, Delilah and Amelia. For example, they've helped out during the annual Christmas Eve event for the homeless.

The Kardashians

Say what you want about the Kardashians, but they're a giving family. For the past few years Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Khloé Kardashian have visited children at the Los Angeles Children's Hospital. As Kylie tweeted in 2012, "So excited to go down and visit the children's hospital again tonight. That's what Christmas is all about!" As you can see above, Kim and Kendall feel the exact same way.

Melissa Joan Hart

There's no doubt former Clarissa Explains It All actress Melissa Joan Hart is all about giving back. As she told E! News in October, "Giving back is so crucial and [relies] way too much on the government these days to take care of our communities and we need to be the ones stepping out." Well, that's exactly what she's doing this year for the holidays. She is participating in #25DaysOfGiving, where she shows one kind gesture each day of December.

Does it surprise anyone that Prince William and Kate Middleton give back during the holidays? Just like they do pretty much on every other day of their lives, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge always find time to support charities during Christmastime. In 2014, Kate helped wrap donated gifts at the Northside Center in Harlem. As for William, in early December, he went Christmas caroling in London. The fun event raised money for the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund, which was set up in memory of William and Prince Harry's friend who died in a 2002 car crash. If that isn't enough, on Tuesday, Kate visited North London's Anna Freud Centre, an institution for children with mental health issues, where she participated in all kinds of activities, including drumming.

Here's hoping one or all of these celebs inspire you to give back during the holidays.
