Zac Breaks Silence On Life Post-Rehab

by Ivy Jacobson

Awwww. The hottest guy at East High School is in a really good place after his reported rehab stint, and it makes me so happy that I could just start belting out "You Are the Music in Me." Zac Efron appeared on the Today show on Tuesday to promote his upcoming comedy, That Awkward Moment, with co-stars Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan and when host Savannah Guthrie asked how Efron was doing after dealing with his alleged substance abuse struggles, and he seemed completely at peace.

"I’m in the best place I’ve ever been. I’ve never been this happy before. I’m extraordinarily grateful for these guys and to be here promoting this movie. Things are good, so thank you for asking,” Efron says.

Efron's fans were shocked when E! News reported in September 2013 that he had completed a stint in rehab five months previously, saying that he was “happy, healthy, and not drinking.” Zac nor his team has ever officially confirmed that he did go to rehab, but he did post a smiling photo of himself on Instagram, thanking fans for their support. Efron also broke his jaw after he reportedly fell and slipped in a puddle in November, so while he had a rough time of it in 2013, it sounds like nothing but positivity for 2014.

Efron left Today in a good mood, and tweeted a really sweet message to his fans and the NYPD after his segment.

Zac will also be promoting his next upcoming comedy soon, Neighbors, co-starring Seth Rogen.
