Makeup junkies everywhere are perfectly familiar with a little tool called the Beauty Blender. While these vibrant pink sponges seem like a basic sponge, their multi-tasking capabilities are beyond measure. However, with the multitasking comes product build-up, leaving most of us wondering, "Can you wash a beauty blender with shampoo?" The short answer is yes, but there are multiple ways to clean the Beauty Blender with shampoo being only one of many.
Beauty Blenders have been a huge hit in the makeup industry with YouTube gurus, professional makeup artists, and the average makeup wearer grabbing them off the shelf. Plus, the original hot pink sponge was so popular that it's spawned knock-off sponges, and while these dupes may have different designs, they're obviously inspired by the OG tool. One glance at a YouTube tutorial, and you'll see just how great these tools can be. Plus, if you're a fan of Kim Kardashian West, you'll definitely want to pick one up. She and makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic swear by the Beauty Blender. With its ability to flawless blend out foundation, apply concealer in the tightest of areas, and even apply cream blush, they're pretty much the perfect face tool, and hey, there's even been experiments about trying them on every part of the face.

With these multi-tasking abilities comes product build-up just like with your makeup brushes. That means you'll need to be prepared to clean your blender. The Beauty Blender does come with its own cleanser, and if you purchased the starter pack, you're good to go. If not though, can you clean a Beauty Blender with shampoo? It's likely you've got the stuff handy, so is it OK to use a drop or two to clean the sponge? It's totally fine, for the most part. According to WikiHow, using an organic, sensitive formula shampoo is a great way to not only clean but deep clean your blender.

So what will you need to do to clean your Beauty Blender with shampoo? First, soak the sponge in lukewarm water under a faucet until it expands to its full size. Once done, take the shampoo and gently cleanse with the organic shampoo by rubbing it against your palm. Depending on how soiled it is, you'll need to scrub more vigorously. Once done, rinse the sponge thoroughly, squeeze it out, and use a clean, dry paper tower to remove the remainder of the moisture.
With the help of your shampoo, you'll be able to keep that Beauty Blender in tip top shape and won't need to worry about replacing it for quite some time.
