Lena Dunham rocked a black bikini in one of her first 2016 Instagram posts and she ditched makeup, which she does often. The result was once again totally amazing, because Dunham presented herself "as is" and without any artifice.
Dunham took an aerial selfie while she was flat on her back, slaying the bikini that was comprised of a squarish, black bra top and high-waisted boy shorts with a chain of charms along the front. That was a cute, additional touch.
The actor, writer, author, and consummate multi-hyphenate captioned the shot as such: "Not her natural habitat but she's trying her darnedest!!!" Many of her fans commented that they feel the same way and posted about how good Dunham looked.
Dunham's no makeup bikini selfie is just another in a long line of examples of Dunham being real, like last week's makeup-free selfie that also showed us how she feeds her mind. She isn't chasing unattainable beauty standards; instead, she is redefining them. And that, my friends, is modern-day feminism in its finest form.
