The Tatum Household Made 'Lip Sync Battle' History

You guys, it's not even Christmas anymore, but my heart just grew three sizes. It's no surprise that married performers Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum tied Lip Sync Battle, a show first, on Thursday night. Who wasn't screaming "#RelationshipGoals" at their television after all of their performances? Plus, as LL Cool Jay reminded us, the belt's going to the same house no matter the outcome. We'll let the two of them fight over it at home.

While Channing Tatum brought out Beyonce herself for an epic performance of "Run The World," and Jenna performed alongside none other than Paula Abdul, at the end of the day there was no choosing between the two. Every performance pulled out the stops, there's no "stripped down" lip syncs anymore. Channing Tatum tried to win their young daughter's vote by performing her favorite song, "Let It Go" from Frozen, in full Elsa attire. His wife, on the other hand, re-created his Magic Mike XXL performance of "Pony," complete with power tools (though they did kick it back to the original with a lap dance towards the end). I never thought I would use the word "adorable" to describe that song, and there it is. I love the choices that they two of them made, and how willing they were to look silly with each other in mind.

One interesting question that may remain unanswered — why was Quentin Tarantino there? Has there ever been a Lip Sync Battle mystery before? Sure, Channing Tatum is in Tarantino's new film The Hateful Eight, but doesn't he have like, Oscar campaign brunches to attend? It looked like he was having fun, though. I guess I'm not mad. Perhaps he was as inspired by Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum's love as I was, because their Lip Sync Battle is clearly one for the ages.
