Kerry Washington's Style Will Be Missed At The GGs

by May Sofi

Awards season has finally arrived, which means the period of glamorous celebrity fashion is now upon us — hooray! One famous fashionista, though, will sadly be missing from the first major red carpet of awards season. That's right, Kerry Washington will not be attending the 2016 Golden Globes on January 10th, the actress revealed to E! Please excuse me while I cry in the corner.

Washington is one of the few starlets that I consistently look forward to seeing on the carpet each year. Why? because she always brings it in the fashion department. You'll never catch the IRL Olivia Pope playing it safe with a plain black gown or super simple silhouettes. The actress is all about taking fashion risks, and we can always count on her to wow us with something surprising and truly spectacular.

At last year's Golden Globe awards, the 38-year-old stunned in a metallic tea-length dress that was perfectly on trend. Remember her straight-off-the-runway, embellished Marc Jacobs dress that she rocked to the Emmys? And of course, who could forget that legendary Prada crop top she sported at the SAG awards? It's safe to say that Washington is the reigning red carpet queen, and her groundbreaking fashion flair will be sorely missed at this year's Golden Globes.

Let's take a trip down memory lane and reminisce on all the killer gowns Washington wowed us with in past red carpets.
